This small shop-built brushed alloy and acid green Salsa Blackthorn looks great and is super capable for Okanagan trails. This bike has 160mm of front travel and 140mm of rear travel as pictured, but one of the unique characteristics of the Salsa Blackthorn is with a few changes it is possible to convert it to the same specs as Salsa's Enduro offering, the Cassidy, giving it 20mm more travel on the front and rear.
The bike has a modern laid-back geometry, but the Split Pivot linkage design means it is still lively and capable when you turn it uphill. The fork is a DVO Diamond D2 and the shock is a RockShox Super Deluxe Select+. For the groupset, we kitted this bike out with a TRP G-Spec 12 speed drivetrain and TRP 4-piston Orion brakes. We then fitted this bike with Race Face Aeffect-R 30 29" wheels a 32T chainring and a wide range 9-50T rear cassette!
For the acid green touches to match the fork we opted for matching acid green Race Face Atlas handlebars and crank arms. As a nice final touch, we decided on an SDG Bel-Air saddle in green which we mounted to an SDG Tellis dropper post.
